This is the second time Jovic has been sent to the G-League this season. His first time was in the middle of November when he returned to the main team after averaging 16.7 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in three games.
"We feel very encouraged by his progress, but we have to quiet all the noise out there when everybody wants it to be a microwave impact right now," head coach Eric Spoelstra said after the Heat's last game on December 8th. "We just want to stay disciplined to the plan. He is getting better, and he’s ready for minutes if called upon."
This season, the Serbian youngster has played in just four NBA regular season games, averaging 3.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game in 12 minutes of playing time. Last season, Jovic played in five games in the G-League, averaging 9.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 5 assists.
