The Lithuanian club officially announced that Austin Hollins joined the organization. The 32-year-old guard signed a three-week trial deal. The team will decide whether to sign the player until the end of the season after the tryout ends.

After playing for Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv last season, Hollins was previously without a team. The player was recovering from a knee injury that required surgery.

Last season, he played in 19 games in the EuroLeague for Maccabi, averaging 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. In the 2021-22 season with Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade, Hollins averaged 8.1 points and 1.9 rebounds for 5.4 PIR.

Hollins will be Zalgiris' second newcomer in two weeks after the club signed Edmond Sumner at the end of November. The Lithuanian team shipped off Ignas Brazdeikis and Naz Mitrou-Long to Olympiacos Piraeus this year. At the same time, Arnas Butkevicius, Brady Manek, and Lukas Lekavicius are all currently sidelined with long-term injuries, while Tomas Dimsa is playing through a minor shoulder injury.

With five wins and eight losses, Zalgiris are currently 14th in the EuroLeague standings.
