Jasikevicius and Fenerbahce are currently in the process of trying to finalize a 2.5-year contract, sources tell BasketNews.

It remains uncertain whether both parties will successfully complete the contract in time for Jasikevicius to lead the team in Friday's EuroLeague game against AS Monaco.

The former FC Barcelona and Zalgiris Kaunas head coach would replace Dimitris Itoudis, who was relieved of his duties on Wednesday.

The 47-year-old Lithuanian left Barcelona after the 2022-23 season and entered the 2023-24 campaign without a team.

Jasikevicius joined Barcelona in 2020. Since then, the Spanish powerhouse has won two ACB titles, two Spanish Copa del Rey trophies, and made the EuroLeague Final Four in all three seasons.

Saras concludes his coaching tenure in Barcelona, having led the team in a total of 268 games across various competitions.

He boasts 131 appearances in the ACB League, 118 in the EuroLeague, 7 in the Copa del Rey, 6 in the Super Cup, and 6 in the Catalan League. Out of these 268 matches, Jasikevicius has emerged victorious on 204 occasions.

Previously, he spent four seasons as Zalgiris head coach, guiding the Lithuanian powerhouse to the EuroLeague Final Four in 2018.

Fenerbahce opened the 2023-24 EuroLeague campaign with a negative 6-7 record and currently share 11th place in the standings.

On Monday, Fenerbahce faced a setback in the Turkish derby against the injury-plagued Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Fenerbahce currently hold the second spot in the Turkish league with 8 wins and 3 losses.
