Shaq weighs in on Draymond Green's suspension, makes Dennis Rodman comparison / News - Basketnews.com
Shaquille O'Neal would hand Draymond Green a two-game suspension, as he thinks the Warriors forward had no intention of hitting Jusuf Nurkic. He also recalled how Dennis Rodman was acting in similar cases in the past.

Green was penalized due to his "repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts."
There is no timetable or minimum amount of games set to accomplish the goal of giving Green the help the league and team think he needs.
The veteran forward's behavior was also condemned by his coach, Steve Kerr.
"This is not just about an outburst on the court. It's about his life. It's about someone who I believe in, someone I have known for decades, who I love for his loyalty," Kerr said.
"The one who choked Rudy [Gobert], the one who took a wild flail at Jusuf, the one who punched Jordan [Poole] last year, that's the guy who needs to change," he added.
However, Hall of Famer and NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal offered an intriguing observation regarding Green’s suspension.
Appearing on 'TMZ Live' on Thursday. O’Neal claimed that if he were the league commissioner, he would only suspend Green for two games, as he had no intention of hitting Nurkic. He feels he was trying to get the referee’s attention in an attempt to catch a foul call on Nurkic.
"I think he (Draymond Green) definitely was trying to sell the call. I think the mistake that he made is he had his arms out extended," said O'Neal.
"I don’t think Draymond said, 'Hey, I'm going to punch this guy just because he's pulling my jersey.' He was just trying to spin around."
So when confronted with the task of being the NBA commissioner when deciding the fate of Green, Shaq, calling him an honest player, argued that he would only suspend the short-tempered player for just two games.
"He is an honest player, and what happened was unfortunate. I would give him two games," he pointed out.
Making an appearance on the Rich Eisen Show, O'Neal compared Green to Dennis Rodman's case.
"This is the way he's been. That's the way [Dennis] Rodman has been his whole career. Make him a Hall of Famer," he proposed.
"So, you want him to come in and not be himself?" Shaq asked. "That's never going to happen."
"That’s the way he's been playing since he came in the league. He has been going back and forth with the refs, he's been getting techs and making contact with people…A lot of people don't know he grew up around Detroit Bad Boys. And it's earned him 4 championships," the 51-year-old continued.
"Now, all of a sudden he needs help? Back when he was winning championships nobody was saying that. That’s the only problem I have with this thing."
