"This phenomenon, this scourge, is unfortunately a reflection of the society which is reflected onto our stadiums and our fields," Bissang explained.
"I faced a situation, but it is all of us who are we are victims," he said. "My activity as a referee is to make decisions in the face of such a situation."
The French referee was also thankful for Olympiacos's swift reaction, as the team banned the fan responsible for the racist chants right away from the Peace and Friendship Stadium.
Moreover, the EuroLeague also banned the person for all future games.
"The multiple reactions, starting with that of the Olympiacos club, moved me," concluded Joseph Bissang.
