Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade guard Shabazz Napier is expected to part ways with the Serbian powerhouse.

Following Zvezda's loss to Real Madrid in EuroLeague Round 15, coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos confirmed Napier is in negotiations to leave Crvena Zvezda.

"Shabazz is in negotiations to change a team, so he asked me not to play today," Sfairopoulos said post-game.

According to Meridian Sport,EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, Napier's former team, is the frontrunner in landing the American guard.

Napier was one of Zvezda's off-season additions this past summer, making a big splash after moving from Milan to Belgrade.

Napier had made a strong impact on Olimpia Milano's 2022-23 season, and this made him a prime candidate during the transfer season.

However, the American was not able to have such an effect with Crvena Zvezda, suffering not only in terms of his overall performance but also with injuries.

The guard sustained a facial injury and a back setback, which caused him to miss a few games this season.

Napier has averaged 9.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 7.8 PIR per game in 11 EuroLeague appearances for Crvena Zvezda.
