In December, Embiid has been on fire, averaging 41.4 points, 12.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.9 blocks while maintaining an impressive 61.4% field goal percentage.
His outstanding performances include a 50-point game against the Wizards on Dec. 7, 38 points against the Hawks on Dec. 9, 34 points against the Wizards on Dec. 12, 41 points against the Pistons on Dec. 14, 35 points against the Pistons on Dec. 16, 42 points against the Hornets on Dec. 17, 40 points against the Bulls on Dec. 19, and the recent 51-point explosion against the Timberwolves on Dec. 21.
Throughout this 8-game stretch, the Sixers only suffered one loss, falling to the Bulls.
The 76ers are scheduled to play five more games in December, facing the Raptors, Heat, Magic, Rockets, and Bulls.
Embiid's 51-point performance on Wednesday marks his 12th consecutive game with 30 or more points and 10-plus rebounds, the longest such streak in the NBA since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar achieved it in 16 straight games for the Milwaukee Bucks during the 1971-72 season.
Joining the elite company of Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, and Walt Bellamy, Embiid becomes one of the few players in NBA history with 12 or more consecutive games of 30-10.
"We're winning, and that's all that matters," Embiid said. "Stats are great, and it's great to put up stats. But if it comes with a loss, then that's a different story. If it comes with a win, it means a lot."
With three straight games of at least 40 points and 10 or more rebounds, Embiid enters the 76ers' record books, a feat only previously achieved by Wilt Chamberlain.
Having notched seven career 50-point games, Embiid ties Dominique Wilkins for 15th all-time and stands alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo as the only player with multiple 50-point games this season.
