The Greek team's president is under the impression that there was a foul on Marius Grigonis while the Lithuanian player was shooting a three-pointer to win the game for Panathinaikos but that this foul was not called.
Here is what Giannakopoulos said on an Instagram story.
"Dear EuroLeague, you know that if Grigonis hadn't scored the shot, it would have been the fifth, the fifth, [steal] of the season against us? Because there was a foul on the three-pointer, which none of the referees saw."
This is not the first time that Giannakopoulos has offered criticism towards EuroLeague referees, which he has ramped up this season. Per his count, there have been four "steals" against Panathinaikos so far in the 2023-24 season.
