With 3:49 remaining in the third quarter, Valencia Basket's Damien Inglis received the ball in the post and turned with the ball in his hands to face the basket. During the motion, he elbowed Pajola directly in the face.
Pajola immediately collapsed to the ground, grabbing onto his mouth. The replay showed that the Italian player lost his tooth.
The 24-year-old couldn't continue the game and was led to the bench with a towel over his mouth. Pajola later received medical help from Virtus staff.
Inglis was given an unsportsmanlike foul.
