Joel Embiid is on track to average more points per game than minutes played, a first since Wilt Chamberlain's 1961-62 season.

While being the first player to average 30+ points and 12+ rebounds in 12+ consecutive games since 1976, Embiid is on track to break a record that's been set more than six decades ago.
At the moment, Embiid is averaging more points per game (35.1) than minutes played (34.1). The last person to do it was Wilt Chamberlain in his legendary 1961-62 season when he averaged a whopping 50.4 points per game while playing a seemingly unbreakable 48.5 minutes per game.
"We're winning, and that's all that matters," Embiid said. "Stats are great, and it's great to put up stats. But if it comes with a loss, then that's a different story. If it comes with a win, it means a lot."
