"That was pretty special. It kind of shows my impact that I've had here, which is really cool, especially starting off my career early at the highest level, winning a championship, I played with a lot of Hall of Famers," he explained.
"But I really embraced myself with Dub Nation [the nickname for the Golden State Warriors by fans], submerged myself with them throughout my tenure here. It was pretty special to see that I got the love back," Poole said, explaining his connection to the club.
Steve Kerr, Poole's coach at the Golden State, also had positive remarks to share about his former player.
"It was wonderful," the coach said. "The video and ovation Jordan got to me was the highlight of the game.
So well deserved for what he did for our organization and for our fans and players and coaches, just the work that he put in and obviously becoming a key member of the championship team. Jordan deserved that ovation. It was wonderful to see," he concluded.
On his return to the Chase Arena, Poole was the highest scorer in his team, contributing 25 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists to a losing effort of 129-118.
This year, the shooting guard is averaging 17.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.
