The mayor of Gravelines, Bertrand Ringot, has stated that a total reconstruction likely will have to be necessary.
Although the occurrence is terrible, thankfully, the arena was evacuated, and there were no casualties.
BCM Gravelines has had the arena for almost 40 years, and the venue has been home to many legendary games for the club and its fans.
The club, which currently competes in the FIBA Europe Cup, will have to find a new arena to continue its basketball operations.
