Detroit Pistons have etched their name in NBA history, becoming the first team to endure a 27-game losing streak in a single season. This record-setting feat was set as they stumbled against the Brooklyn Nets with a final score of 118-112 on Tuesday night.

In their previous matchup on Saturday, the Nets had already dealt the Pistons their 26th consecutive loss, aligning them with the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers and the 2013-14 Philadelphia 76ers for the most consecutive defeats in a single season.

However, Detroit now stands alone in this undesirable distinction. The team is now eyeing the all-time record of 28 straight losses, a mark established by the Philadelphia 76ers spanning the latter part of the 2014-15 season through the early stages of the 2015-16 season.

The Pistons' quest to match or surpass this record appears probable as they gear up for a game against the NBA-leading Boston Celtics on Thursday night, with the potential to extend their streak.

Towards the conclusion of Tuesday's defeat, a frustrated crowd vocalized their dissatisfaction with chants of "Sell the team! Sell the team!" Though, Pistons owner Tom Gores was not present in the arena to hear it.
