Joel Embiid will be sidelined for his second consecutive game due to a sprained right ankle when the Philadelphia 76ers take on the Orlando Magic at the Kia Center on Wednesday, as reported by Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The reigning NBA MVP is currently undergoing treatment back in Philadelphia, and his availability for Friday's matchup against the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center is still uncertain.

Embiid sustained the ankle sprain during the first quarter of Friday's 121-111 triumph over the Toronto Raptors and was subsequently absent for the Christmas Day game against the Miami Heat.

The Sixers, holding a record of 20-9, have faced challenges in games without Embiid, going 0-4 in such instances.

Embiid has been delivering an outstanding performance in recent outings, averaging 40.2 points on 60.6 percent shooting, along with 12.6 rebounds over his last nine games.
