Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens' partnership with Kyle Guy is drawing to a premature ending, SDNA reports, as the contract signed a few months ago between the two sides will soon be terminated.

The 26-year-old guard, who signed a 2-year deal with the Greek powerhouse last summer, lost his place in the team's rotation after the arrival of Kendrick Nunn.

After not being included in the 12-man squad in several games (his last EuroLeague appearance was recorded on 5 December in the away defeat by Anadolu Efes), the two sides found a common ground to complete their cooperation.

Per the same report, the discussions will soon bring an official announcement on the player's release. This means that Guy won't be loaned out to another team and that he will be free to choose his next destination.

Guy played a total of8 EuroLeague games with PAO, averaging 4.0 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game in 10:38 minutes. In the Greek Basket League, he appeared in 6 games, averaging 6.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 22 minutes.

Whether the departure of Kyle Guy is the only change in Panathinaikos AKTOR's roster before the start of the second round of the EuroLeague will be clarified by Monday. January 1 is the deadline for the registration of players who have already participated in this season's EuroLeague campaign with another team.

In the previous days, Guy had an offer from Tenerife and it is not ruled out that he will be coming back to Spain, where he started his overseas career with Joventut Badalona.

The player's agent, Misko Raznatovic, posted a tweet on X, hinting at an imminent development.

"Unfortunately, there is a shop that has to stay open for 365 days," he wrote. "Birthdays, New Year's Eve-nobody really cares. Tomorrow, we end 2023 in style."
