"Great players don't always become great managers. Maybe [Tony] Parker wanted the EuroLeague Final Four," Petrucci told Tuttosport, via Sportando.
Following the parting ways process, Parker appeared in an interview with Yann Ohnona from L'Equipe and expressed his disappointment with Pozzecco's performance and management.
A four-time NBA champion accused the Italian coach of seemingly giving up and being solely motivated by financial gain.
"I am very, very, disappointed with his performance, with his management of the team. ... In these circumstances, it's a shame to wait to get fired instead of resigning. He did it on purpose,"Parker said in some of his statements about Pozzecco.
