On the matter, Popovich had the following to say.
"I feel the same way about that as when Kawhi Leonard got booed here," Popovich said, recalling the time when he had to ask Spurs fans to stop booing the star player. "It's unnecessary. It's impolite. It's ignorant," the legendary specialist stated.
"If anything, it's like a snapshot of the world we live in today. Meanness seems to be a lot more condoned," stated Popovich, criticizing what he perceived to be a trend in the globe.
