The Lithuanian organization later confirmed the report.
The 32-year-old wing from the United States joined the Lithuanian champions in December on a non-guaranteed deal.
"He is an amazing human being. The best teammate you can find. He is helping the coach and his teammates. Whatever happens, I'm very thankful for how he did his job," said Zalgiris head coach Andrea Trinchieri following Friday's loss in Barcelona.
Hollins might make his final appearance for Zalgiris on Sunday in the LKL game against BC Siauliai, marking the last day of his contract.
During his stint, Hollins participated in 8 EuroLeague games this season, putting up an average of 3.9 points and 1.0 rebounds in 12 minutes of play.
The 1.93m American player showcased a notable performance in his second game against Fenerbahce Istanbul, scoring 7 points. Additionally, he recorded six points each against Barcelona and ALBA Berlin.
In two Lithuanian league games, Hollins maintained an average of 5.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 17 minutes.
Hollins, who played for Maccabi Tel Aviv last year, also brings EuroLeague experience from three solid seasons with Zenit and Crvena Zvezda Belgrade.
Due to EuroLeague rules, he won't be eligible to play in the EuroLeague for the remainder of this season since he represented Zalgiris after the transfer window deadline.
Andrea Trinchieri anticipates the coming return of Arnas Butkevicius, one of Zalgiris' top defensive players, who has resumed practicing after recovering from a foot injury. Butkevicius is currently engaging in individual workouts.
