Pascal Siakam eager to work on a new contract with Pacers / News - Basketnews.com

Immediately after being traded to the Indiana Pacers, Pascal Siakam expressed a desire to work on a new contract with his new team.

Pascal Siakam moved from the Toronto Raptors to the Indiana Pacers today, resulting in the most major trade of the 2023-24 NBA season so far.

The power forward, who has been having a breakout season, has been tracked by more than one team, but ultimately made his way to the Pacersin exchange for Bruce Brown and picks.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the player has expressed excitement about being in the Pacers and that he is looking forward to working on a new contract with the team.

Currently, Siakam's contract will expire in the upcoming July, and he will become a free agent unless a new document takes effect.

Wojnarowski's statements have been corroborated by Siakam's agent, Todd Ramasar, who told Andscape the following.

"I'm excited that Pascal is getting a first class opportunity with the Pacers, being paired with Tyrese [Haliburton] and Myles [Turner] and being coached by a great coach in Rick Carlisle. His future [there] looks bright there."

This year, Siakam is averaging 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists on 52.2% field goal shooting.
