Newport Beach Police Department has closed the investigation into Giddey's alleged relationship with an underage girl after no corroborating evidence was found, TMZ reports.

The girl and her family were unwilling to cooperate with the officials, and the investigation was ultimately closed due to a lack of additional evidence. The girl's family even hired a famous lawyer to represent them, TMZ reported in December.

Giddey got into the scandal during the Thanksgiving weekend after it was alleged that he was sexually involved in an inappropriate relationship with an underage woman.Although the NBA launched an investigation, the league has not imposed any sanctions on Giddey, and the guard continues to play for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Giddey hasn't provided any details or comments about the scandal ever since it erupted in November.
