In a matchup against the Miami Heat, Rajakovic ran a play on the very first possession of the game to commemorate his friend and colleague. As a result of the play, Gary Trent Jr. went on to make a three-pointer.
"I told my guys I loved them," Rajakovic said after the game following the news about Milojevic's passing.
"The opening play of the game was an ATO (after timeout play) that Deki, my friend, [had in his playbook]. I learned that play from him, and that's what he brought to the NBA, that's what he brought to Golden State. I stole that play from him," the Raptors head coach said. "That was our opening play tonight, and we were able to score on that one. I dedicated this team win to our team and to Deki."
The Raptors comfortably won the game, 121-97.
