First, Zalgiris Kaunas welcomed Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul in what was the Turkish club head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius' first away game against his former team this season. Although Jasikevicius returned after having won seven out of his eight EuroLeague games, the Lithuanian team outclassed the guests and won handily.
Next, the battle between two participants of last year's Final Four took place, as AS Monaco hosted Real Madrid, who played without one of their biggest stars, Edy Tavares. Despite firmly standing in first place in the standings and having just two losses before, Real Madrid had no chance in Monaco and lost by 24 points.
Later on in the evening, Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade's head coach, Zeljko Obradovic, returned to Greece to play against his former club, Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, a club with which Obradovic won five EuroLeague titles. Despite a cheerful greeting he received at the OAKA Arena, Obradovic's Partizan lost to Panathinaikos, who won the eight game of their last nine.
To finish the round, Valencia Basket welcomed EA7 Emporio Armani Milan as the Italian team's newcomer, Rodney McGruder, made his debut. He scored four points on five shot attempts, while Valencia's Chris Jones played the best game of the season, leading his team to a home victory.
