Additionally, the former scoring champ voiced his opinion on the recent trade between the New York Knicks and the Toronto Raptors.
"He’s just a bland player, bro. That’s not a shot. That’s not disrespect. I ask a lot of people who are Knicks fans to see what they say, it’s just like, ‘He’s good, he gets it done sometimes, but he’s not an exciting player.’ You don’t know if he’s going to get 4 (points) or 26," Anthony said about RJ Barrett, who got sent from New York to Toronto, in the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast.
Barrett got to play against his former team on Saturday, where he scored 20 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists. After the game, he was asked about Anthony's remarks.
"I think it was funny. Because the next day I had four points. The game before, I had 24, so he was almost right. … He’s a Hall of Famer, man," Barrett said, taking the high ground, via the New York Post.
Although the Knicks won the game, Barrett outscored OG Anunoby, who he's being compared to after the trade, 20 to 14.
