He executed a dazzling behind-the-back move, leaving Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic on the floor, before sinking a mid-range jump shot.
The American Airlines Center even replayed this moment on the giant center-court scoreboard.
"Jaylen Brown attacked me well. I saw that video," Doncic said with a smile in the post-game conference. "I can't lie, that was really nice. I was on the floor praying he wouldn't make it. But he made it, it's a whole highlight."
Despite finishing with 33 points, 18 rebounds, and 13 assists, Doncic admitted it was not his night.
At halftime, he was struggling, shooting 5 for 16 from the field and 0 for 5 from 3-point range, ultimately concluding the game at 12 for 30 from the field and 2 for 8 from three.
"I played bad, missed a lot of layups," Doncic said. "But they're an amazing team, they're No. 1 in the NBA. They play defense, they have two guys that can really play basketball really well. Other guys can play, too.
"In one possession, I missed three wide-open layups in a row. I think it wasn't my night today."
