According to Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN, Porter Jr. reached a plea agreement of a third-degree reckless assault and second-degree harassment.
The player will undergo a program. Upon its completion after a year, Porter will be able to withdraw his plea to assault.
Porter was previously accused of attacking his now-former girlfriend and WNBA player, Kysre Gondrezick. According to a criminal complaint, the woman told the police that Porter repeatedly punched her in the face with a closed fist, resulting in a cut above her right eye, bruising, and substantial pain, while also squeezing her neck with his hands, causing difficulty in breathing, redness, and bruising. Hospital tests confirmed that Gondrezick had sustained a fractured neck vertebra.
Although Gondrezick later claimed he never hit her, Porter was charged with felony assault.
Having previously played for the Houston Rockets, Porter was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder and waived following the move.
