It's been a strange night in NBA breaking news, marked by conflicting reports. Following the Milwaukee Bucks' decision to part ways with head coach Adrian Griffin on Tuesday, swift rumors connected NBA champion Doc Rivers to the vacant position.

As of Tuesday evening, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Rivers and the Bucks were "engaging in conversations," while The Athletic's Shams Charania suggested that Rivers was the frontrunner for the head coaching role in Milwaukee.

However, on Tuesday's edition of Inside the NBA, host Adam Lefkoe dropped a surprise by stating that CNN Sports had reported a done deal between Rivers and the Bucks.

Even former NBA player Jamal Crawford, present in the studio, took a moment to double-check the news source.

Shortly thereafter, Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report added another layer, stating that while there is mutual interest between Rivers and the Bucks, multiple sources informed him that nothing has been finalized yet.

Chris Haynes, a senior NBA Insider for TNT and Bleacher Report, reiterated that both parties are actively working toward a deal that would appoint Rivers as the franchise's next head coach. However, he clarified that, as of now, no agreement has been reached.

Milwaukee fired Adrian Griffin after just 43 games in his first season and second-best Eastern Conference record of 30 wins and 13 defeats.
