However, the NBA's Last Two Minute (L2M) Report published on Tuesday highlighted a total of 10 incorrect calls during the game's final two minutes.
Three of these incorrect calls favored the Timberwolves, while six worked in favor of the Hornets.
Among the errors was a crucial missed shooting foul that, if correctly called, would have provided Karl-Anthony Towns an opportunity to take the lead for the T-Wolves with less than five seconds remaining.
The Hornets should have been penalized for two shooting fouls, two instances of travels or double dribbles, a loose ball foul, and a personal foul. On the other side, the Timberwolves benefited from non-called shooting fouls and an overlooked offensive foul during the final possession of the game.
Minnesota's collapse is in no way excusable, a sentiment strongly echoed by head coach Chris Finch, who characterized it as both "disgusting" and "immature."
