The Memphis Grizzlies will receive a Disabled Player Exception of $12.4 million after Ja Morant's season-ending injury.

The NBA will award the Memphis Grizzlies with a Disabled Player Exception following the end of Ja Morant's season.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the payment will be worth $12.4 million.

This means that the team's request to receive a Disabled Player Exception was granted by the NBA management.

Wojnarowski also states that the Grizzlies can only use the exception before March 11.

Morant had suffered a shoulder injury, which sadly ended the season for him. It was a shoulder subluxation because of a labral tear.

He had already been away from the courts at the beginning of the 2023-24 season, as he had been suspended for showing a gun on a livestream.

The player was averaging 25.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game with the Memphis Grizzlies.
