Speaking to B92.net, Partizan's president, Ostoja Mijailovic, talked about his team's desire to have such a friendly game.
"It is true that we are thinking of inviting Golden State to play an outdoor game. The game would be played in honor of Dejan Milojevic," stated Mijailovic. "Soon, we will have the Executive Board of the club, where we will talk more about this idea."
"Milojevic left a big mark in Partizan. We will also discuss the idea that always before the start of the season, Partizan will play in Dejan's honor a game dedicated to him," he revealed further plans and discussed Milojevic's importance.
If the project materializes, Mijailovic stated that it would be held in the Partizan Stadium.
On the other hand, Zaza Pachulia, a former NBA player who is currently an executive at the Golden State Warriors, evaluated the proposal to Mozzart Sport.
"We haven't heard about Partizan's invitation, but I have to say that it is a fantastic idea. I take my hat off to the president of Partizan for the initiative, which is beautiful because Deki deserved something like that because of everything he did," stated Pachulia.
However, simply goodwill would not be enough to make this activity happen, according to the former player.
"Of course, it would be an honor for us to play with Partizan in Serbia, but I also have to emphasize that it is not easy to do. The NBA is a business. Several factors are looked at, from the players [to] the schedule. A lot of things would have to come together to make it happen..." Pachulia stated but remained strongly in favor of the idea.
"But the idea is outstanding, and personally, I would really like to [see it] realized in this way because of the players and fans in Serbia, but above all in memory of a man like Dejan Milojevic," he stated.
Proceedings throughout the world have been held in honor of Milojevic, who was 46 years old when he passed away due to a heart condition.
