He was in noticeable pain as he ran to the locker room with trainers.
Jericho Sims ended up shooting the ensuing free throws, meaning Randle could not return to the game even if he was cleared to play.
Before exiting, Randle recorded 19 points and nine rebounds in 32 minutes of action. New York went on to win 125-109.
Following the game, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said he is very concerned about Randle, whose initial X-rays showed a dislocated right shoulder, according to ESPN.
"He's a guy who plays through things, and that’s what you love about him," Thibodeau said. "He’s a warrior. And so, any time someone walks back, you know it's something. I don't want to speculate until we have the information."
"You don't want to see that from anybody, especially the way he’s been playing," star point guard Jalen Brunson said. "He means a lot to us. So for him to go back there [to the locker room], obviously it’s not ideal. When we figure out what’s wrong, we’ll go from there."
In 46 games (all starts) this season, the 29-year-old Randle sports averages of 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 31.1 percent from 3-point range.
The Knicks are back in action on Monday, when it visits the Charlotte Hornets.
