In a recent X post, Rubio revealed that he is entering the final phase of his mental health recovery and is about to join FC Barcelona for practice.
Barca officially confirmed Rubio's message and stated that the player is joining their training on Tuesday.

"Hello, everyone.
I wanted to inform you that the time has come to enter the final phase of my recovery.
After several weeks of thinking and dedicated work on both my mind and body,I see myself with the desire and strength to see how I react with a ball in my hands.
My next step has been to ask FC Barcelona if could, without any commitment and without interrupting their season plans, train with them. I express my gratitude in advance for their understanding and support in this matter.
Finally, I'd like to thank all the individuals who have shown me respect and support throughout this process. I also appreciate the respect shown for my privacy on this journey."
Before his extensive NBA career, Rubio played in Barca from 2009 to 2011. During those two seasons, Rubio won eight titles, including two Catalan Leagues, two Spanish Super Cups, two Copa del Rey cups, one ACB League trophy, and one EuroLeague title.
Throughout his stint, Rubio appeared in 140 official games for Barca.
