Speaking about the game, Italian coach Ettore Messina had clear remarks to share about his team and about Panathinaikos.

"We had no resistance. The performance and mood we had [were] embarrassing. I apologize to the owner and the world of the team," Messina said in the post-game press conference. "We started off and were missing layups.

We couldn't limit [Mathias] Lessort on the basket and rebounds, Juancho Hernangomez on the perimeter. [Jerian] Grant had a fantastic game, the way he controlled the team. We will talk and correct our mistakes," the specialist stated.

One of the reasons for Olimpia Milano's inconsistent season has been because of injuries and the addition of new players to the roster.

"We don't have continuity in the roster," Messina noted. "We had to cover the absences of [Nikola] Mirotic and [Maodo] Lo. Now, we have more players. You don't start building a team from offense; you do from defense," the coach revealed his mentality. All players must make an effort and make room for those coming."

Messina also revealed his preferences for the two best teams in Europe at the moment.

"Panathinaikos, together with Real [Madrid], are the two best teams in Europe," he said. "The way they play in attack and defense, the energy, the people. It's like old times..." the coach reminisced. "You have to be strong mentally here [in the OAKA]. You will have less points, and you will be embarrassed."

With the loss to Panathinaikos, Milano regressed to a 10-14 record this season.
