Embiid can either opt to rest and rehabilitate, or to go to a procedure to deal with the injury, which would make him miss "extended time." He is purported to make the decision by Monday.
The injury in question is considered a meniscus tear, according to The Athletic. He was apparently suffering from soreness on his knee for a good part of the season, and this soreness has caused him to miss some games in January.
The center had picked up the injury last Tuesday when the 76ers went against the Golden State Warriors and Embiid was hurt in a collision with Jonathan Kuminga.
This year, Embiid is averaging35.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game, being the league's top scorer.
