This honor comes as a result of the Bucks' 129-117 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night, securing the best record in the East through games played on Feb. 4 among teams with eligible coaches for the All-Star Weekend.
Although the Boston Celtics boast the best record in the East at 37-12, their coach, Joe Mazzulla, is ineligible for participation this year because he served as a head coach in the All-Star Game last season.
Currently holding the second spot in the East with a 33-16 record, Milwaukee now takes the coaching reins for the All-Star Game.
Rivers stepped into the role of Bucks' head coach just last week after the departure of Adrian Griffin. With a 1-2 record under his leadership, this marks Rivers' fourth time coaching in the All-Star Game, having previously done so in 2008, 2011, and 2021.
The All-Star Game is scheduled to take place in Indianapolis on Feb. 18.
