Fontecchio earns just over $3 million per season and is in the final year of his two-year deal, providing a comfortable contract for the two teams.
In his second season in the NBA after coming from Europe, Fontecchio is averaging 9.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 23.2 minutes of playing time per game on 57.9% effective field goal percentage, per Cleaning the Glass, placing him in the 81st percentile of all NBA players.
Fontecchio would provide bench depth for the Celtics and the Suns. The Italian forward becomes a restricted free agent after the season, becoming a valuable roster piece in the offseason.
NBA trade window ends at 3 PM ET on Thursday, February 8th.
