Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade didn't start the week as they had hoped for. The squad coached by Giannis Sfairopoulos were coming off a EuroLeague home loss to FC Barcelona, before dropping their ABA League contest against Buducnost in Podgorica.

It was the third defeat for Zvezda in the regional competition, but it probably won't cost them much in terms of results, as they were favored by Split's win over Partizan (74-67). Thus, Zvezda keep leading the standings at 16-3, having two wins more than Buducnost (14-5) and three more than Partizan and Cedevita Olimpija (13-6).

"Last night we played an extremely bad game in Podgorica, perhaps the worst this season in the ABA league," Nemanja Nedovic commented on the 62-84 blowout.

"Our game, regardless of the extremely condensed calendar, was far from the level of Red Star in every sense. Starting with an energy that was far from the level needed for a game like this. I apologize to everyone, our fans, on behalf of the team and myself."

Adam Hanga recalled that the match in the capital of Montenegro was interrupted for 20 minutes, due to the inappropriate behavior of the home fans.

"They threw several objects at me, coins, lighters, I don't know what else, but I shouldn't have reacted," the Hungarian forward said.

"In 13 years in Spain I was used to such scenes. I shouldn't have reacted, but the game didn't go the way I or my team wanted. Everything came together and that was the reason for frustration", explained Hanga in an interview with Hungarian television M1.

Hanga said that one person even threw a beer can that landed a few meters from him, which resulted in the game being stopped in order to have the floor cleaned.

"And then we almost missed the plane," he continued. "It was a difficult day."

This week, Zvezda are hosting Zalgiris Kaunas on Friday, before taking on Zadar on Sunday. Hanga, as well as Rokas Giedraitis (Lithuania), have received invitations to join their national teams after the Radivoj Korac Kup that will be held in Nis between February 15 and 18.
