Portland Trail Blazers forward Shaedon Sharpe will spend more than a month without basketball.

Sharpe has undergone a procedure "to address a core muscle injury," the team announced. The player will be re-evaluated in six weeks.

In his second season in the league, Sharpe has proven to be a competent producer, averaging 15.9 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game for the Blazers.

Sharpe significantly increased his production from the rookie season, improving in all major statistical categories - points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.

With 15 wins and 36 losses, Portland is currently 14th in the Western Conference, holding the 5th-worst record in the league.
