With around 19 seconds remaining on the game clock, Evans received the ball after an out-of-bounds play. As Crvena Zvezda's players tried to pressure him into a turnover, Evans turned his foot toward the center-court line and passed the ball away.
What sparked a furious reaction from the local fans was the replay on the big screen which showed an eerily close distance between Evans' foot and the center line. Unhappy with the no-call, Crvena Zvezda's fans started throwing various things on the court.
The game was temporarily stopped.
"I don't like when people disrespect the game, whether that was bad call, good call, refs. I get the frustration, you can yell and get your anger out, but throwing stuff kind of just takes away from being amazing fans," Evans told BasketNews after the game
"It's dangerous. You can really hit a player and hurt him," the player explained. "I really wish that wasn't the thing, but it happens."
