However, there were several things Ataman didn't like about his team's performance, despite the easy win.
"I'm not happy because we had 13 assists and 12 turnovers," the Turkish coach noted.
"That's not good for our level at all. Defensively, we were good in set play, but our problem was giving up easy points off turnovers. They scored 65 points and I think they scored over 30 points in transition after our turnovers. On Sunday, we will come here to take the cup," Ataman argued.
Panathinaikos' play-caller was asked about the Greek Cup format and schedule which includes three games in as many days for one of the finalists.
"It's a decision made by the [Greek] federation," Ataman commented.
"Two years ago in Turkey, they changed the system and it was like league games. Teams played home and away, and then there was the Final 4. And I think it was better. Friday the two semi-finals and Sunday the final. Fairer. For Olympiacos, if they make the final, it is not fair to play three days in a row. We have been here [in Crete] for so many days," he added.
Luca Vildoza missed the semi-final against Aris due to a knee injury he picked up during Panathinaikos' win over AEK Athens last Thursday. Ataman said team doctors informed him that the Argentinian guard wouldn't be able to suit up Saturday, but he might do so in the title game.
He also revealed that Olek Balcerowski, author of 5 points against Aris, will make the 12-man squad in case Olympiacos overcome Promitheas Patras in the second semifinal.
"He played well today and I think if Olympiacos advance, because of [Moustapha] Fall, my choice is going to be Balcerowski. But that will be decided tomorrow, and depending on the Vildoza's condition," he clarified. "But it's very likely to be Balcerowski."
