According to Yahoo Sports writer Vincent Goodwill, Curry believes that the following guards can lead the league after the retirement of the veterans:

Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This discussion comes at a year when Curry and Durant are aged 35, and James is aged 39.

The trio named by Curry are all having seasons to remember. Currently, SGA is ranked second in the MVP ladder, while Doncic and Anthony Edwards are ranked 5th and 13th, respectively, according to the Kia MVP Ladder published on February 15, 2024.
