NBA and Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird heaped praise on LeBron James, the superstar of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Larry Bird, who once dominated the NBA and became one of its legends as a player of the Boston Celtics, spoke highly of LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, who is arguably also a legend even though his career is ongoing.

"I tell people to quit whining about LeBron. Enjoy him while he's here. He's unbelievable," the legend said to NBA TV. "He's one of the greatest, if not the greatest, players ever."

Bird is known to talk highly of modern stars of the NBA, which is a unique situation among retired stars.

In 13 years with the Boston Celtics, which was the only team that Bird ever played with, the forward accumulated three championships, three regular season MVP awards, and two Finals MVP awards.

He has career averages of 24.3 points, 10 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game.

As for LeBron, the 39-year-old superstar is averaging 24.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game this season.
