NBA living legend LeBron James shared plans to retire when he is still playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Currently playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, the forward was one of the names that dominated and still continues to dominate the league for many decades.

In a press conference before the 2024 All-Star game, the player brought some clarity to the matter.
"I am a Laker, and I'm happy and have been very happy being a Laker the last six years, and hopefully, it stays that way. But I don't have the answer to how long it is or which uniform I'll be in," he said, in spite of his positive remarks about the Lakers.
"Hopefully, [it] is with the Lakers. It's a great organization with so many greats. But we'll see," James ultimately said, expressing hope that he stays with the Los Angeles Lakers.
James also talked about his and the Lakers' health situation. Speaking about a minor ankle problem, the forward iterated that staying healthy was a key priority for both him and the team.
"The most important thing for me is definitely my health, where I'm at right now, where our team is leaning. We're trending in the right direction," he said. "Obviously, with our Laker team, it's been about health all year. Trying to do what's best for me for the betterment of the team."
On the topic of health, the legendary player is also seeking to represent Team USA in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics, a consideration which health factors into extensively.
"I told myself before the season when I committed to being a part of the Olympic team, obviously it was all predicated on my health. As it stands right now, I am healthy enough to be on the team and perform at a level that I knew I could perform at," James said, underlining his commitment to Team USA.
Respectfully nicknamed "King James," the small forward has had an illustrious 21 years in the NBA so far. During his career, he won the NBA championship four times, becoming Finals MVP in all of them, and became regular season MVP four times.
He has also made many selections, making it to the All-NBA First Team 13 times and the All-NBA Defensive First Team 5 years consecutively. James also recently made history by making his 20th All-Star appearance, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
