According to the same article, the talks between Wemby and Louis Vuitton took root last year when the rising talent, then playing for Metropolitans 92 in Paris, began garnering significant attention in NBA circles, drawing comparisons to LeBron James.
"I wanted a meaningful partnership," he explained. "To me, it made a lot of sense to partner with LV -- you know, French excellence. The expertise is something that I feel very much attracted to."
Wembanyama also mentioned a practical aspect of the collaboration: "It's always been hard to find clothes that fit," he told GQ. With Louis Vuitton on his side, that's no longer a problem.
Wembanyama is fresh off his first All-Star Weekend, where he played in the Rising Stars Challenge.
The French sensation has been averaging 20.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 3.2 blocks over 49 games in his rookie season.
