After seemingly being put aside from consideration as one of the biggest stars of the EuroLeague, Jan Vesely is having a tremendous season in FC Barcelona. As such, the club would like to keep the player for the foreseeable future.

According to RAC1 radio, Barca and Vesely are working on a contract extension.

Vesely's current deal runs through the 2024-25 season. However, the club wants to change one particular detail in the contract. Namely, there is a clause that allows Vesely to leave the club this upcoming summer if a buyout is paid by another club.

According to Jose Ignacio Huguet from Mundo Deportivo, Barca would like to remove the clause with the new deal.

Vesely is averaging 12.9 points and 4.5 rebounds for 16.6 PIR in the EuroLeague this season, his best marks since the 2020-21 season with Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul.

Vesely's stats are more modest in the Spanish Liga Endesa (ACB) - 9.3 points and 3.8 rebounds for 10.3 PIR.
