Vassilis Spanoulis celebrated a victorious debut with a 72-64 win over the Czech Republic in the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers.

Having officially taken over from Dimitris Itoudis last October, Spanoulis signed a two-year deal.
Spanoulis, an Olympiacos Piraeus legend, began his head coaching career in 2022 and has since been at the helm of the Basketball Champions League team, Peristeri B.C.
In his NT coaching debut game, Panathinaikos Athens forward Dinos Mitoglou scored a game-high 22 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and collected 21 EFF.
Thomas Walkup added a near triple-double of 16 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals, and 27 EFF. His Olympiacos teammate Kostas Papanikolaou also contributed with 16 points and 8 boards.
Ondrej Balvin posted a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Czech Republic, while FC Barcelona star guard Tomas Satoransky had 9 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 16 EFF.
In addition to Greece and the Czech Republic, Group F includes Great Britain and the Netherlands.
Looking ahead, Spanoulis' team is set to face the Netherlands on the road on February 26.
