Green said Williams' outburst at the end of the game was unwarranted, and the Hornets forward should stop being a tough guy when he isn't.

At the end of the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Charlotte Hornets, Grant Williams got into a conflict with Lester Quinones for a late basket when the game was already decided. The Hornets forward received some backlash from Draymond Green for it.

Williams didn't like that Quinones scored a layup with the winner of the contest already clear. Moments after the shot, he got into the face of Quinones and ultimately got ejected for being the instigator.

Draymond Green was highly critical of Williams' behavior.

"I don't really understand why people get so mad at scoring at the end of the game. It's just a dumb, unofficial, unwritten rule that everybody gets mad [about]. If y'all were winning by 13 points, would you be mad if they laid the ball up? I doubt it. It's kind of like a sore loser kind of thing. Miles is my guy, he's my little brother, so I'm not going to sit here and go in on Miles, Miles can do no wrong to me.

But Grant Williams has to stop it, man. Being this tough guy is going absolutely wrong for him. He's a really nice guy. For some reason, he keeps trying to jump on the unlikeable side. Let me tell you - it's not always fun out here. It's not always a good time," Draymond laughed, citing his reputation as the bad guy.

Grant Williams is currently the vice president of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), with New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum serving as the president of the organization.

With Williams not acting in a way that would fit such a position, Green attacked the Hornets forward for it.

"I don't know, man, he needs to figure it out because boy... Talking too much kind of got you out of Dallas. Overdoing it. And he's over there talking too much. You might want to slow down with all the tough guy stuff. You want to be the president of PA or stuff? You can't be out there doing that stuff. You don't see CJ McCollum running around being a tough guy. Chris [Paul] was tough as hell as the Players Association president. CP is 6-feet. You gotta have some nastiness to you to be that great and be 6-feet tall. I don't know what Grant Williams [is] out there doing," Green said.

"That dude... He [is] into it with everybody this year. And he came over to our bench, thought he was about to have a friend. Ain't no friends for you over here, my man," Draymond continued. "You have to go down there and talk to your guys. You can't come over here to us and talk to us about what just happened with our players. No, we support him (Lester Quinones). There's a two-second differential in the shot clock. Would you like us to take another turnover? We got enough turnovers as it is. 22 turnovers. You want us to get 23?"

Warriors superstar and leader Stephen Curry was taken out of the game with 2:45 remaining in the fourth quarter and Golden State up by 13 points. Green said that should've been the indication for the Hornets and Grant Williams that the game was already decided at that point.

"You also cannot press down 13 with a minute to go. And then somebody shoot[s] a layup with 22 seconds to go and you get mad. With 2:45 [left], we took our stars [out]. Go sit down, it's over. The game is over, sit down," Greens said. "They didn't want to go sit down. So if y'all are still playing, then play. Don't stop now because it's 22 seconds left and you finally feel like it's out of reach. We clearly thought it was out of reach at 2:45, which is why [head coach] Steve [Kerr] took everybody out. So now that you think it's out of reach it's ok? It ends now? No, it doesn't work like that.

I'm really sick of guys with this [mentality], like 'Oh, you scored at the end, aaaaaa.' Bro, you should've done that a long time ago. Yeah, man. Pray for Grant Williams," Draymond concluded.
