Namely, the Israeli forward has been diagnosed with a strain of a lateral ligament in his knee, an injury he suffered during the EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers game against Portugal on Thursday.
Sorkin got hit in the knee by his teammate, Yam Madar, who made a pass to the corner and fell to the floor afterward. Sorkin could be seen grabbing his left knee immediately after the episode.
The Maccabi forward walked to the other side of the court but ultimately ended up returning to the bench.
Sorkin played over 11 minutes on the court, registering 7 points and 3 rebounds for the national team en route to a tough 72-70 win on the road.
The 27-year-old forward averages 7.5 points and 3.6 rebounds for 7.4 PIR in the EuroLeague in over 17 minutes of playing time per game.
With 13 wins and 13 losses, Maccabi are currently 10th in the EuroLeague standings.
