Vasilije Micic is one of the most decorated guards to come out of Europe in recent history, continuing to show his talents in the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA at a time when he is not able to help out his national team, Serbia.

Speaking to RTS, the talented player commented on Serbia's perfect FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers window and his resurgence with the Charlotte Hornets.

"This evening is not the brightest, but the pace [of the games] is quite difficult," explained Micic after a 123-85 blowout loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. "We played with a team that is organized and [plays] good, probably one of the contenders for the championship ring," continued the Serbian guard, still expressing hope for the future of the team.

As he was out helping the Hornets go on a 5-2 run in their last 7 games, Micic was not able to assist his native Serbia in the first window of FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers games, but they still went 2-0 regardless.

"I watched both games, and I'm very glad. Those games are ungrateful to play in the middle of the season," said Micic, previously representing his team in such in-season national tournaments. "Many players are tired, many have their own personal difficulties, but kudos to the guys for their approach and the result," he lauded his compatriots.

On the topic of his inclusion in Serbia's roster for the Paris Olympics, the former EuroLeague MVP (in the 2020-21 season) had the following to say.

"First, the season must end. We must stay healthy and start preparations like that. I hope we will all be together," he concluded.

After moving to the Hornets, Micic has been averaging 8.6 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game.
