"I'm trying to play real minutes, I'm trying to be responsible and have a real role, and I know that's going to come for the work I put in practice and all of that stuff, but I'm ready for that, and I'm excited about being around that bond and USA brotherhood again, man," Durant said. "It's unmatched."
However, the 35-year-old doesn't want to win it just to win it. As Durant noted himself, he wants to see Team USA dominating over the other teams.
"Interesting in seeing how you work and what makes you, you, because all greats are going to be here," Durant said. "So I'm excited about that, but the accolade piece, having four [gold medals]. I think I'd be the only one. Let's go get four. I want to really make a statement on how dominant our players are. Like 40, 50-point wins. I want to do that."
Durant represented Team USA in four international tournaments: 3 Olympic Games (2012, 2016, and 2020) and the FIBA World Cup in 2010. He won gold medals in all of them.
Meanwhile, Durant averages 27.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game in 52 appearances for the Suns this season.
