Bronny James' draft decision is centered on finding the right team fit over securing a high draft position, according to Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, who emphasizes LeBron James' support for his son's independence in carving out his own basketball legacy.

USC's freshman guard Bronny James is weighing entering the 2024 NBA draft, and as revealed by Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, his decision will hinge on specific team interest rather than draft position.

"I don't value a young player getting into the lottery as much as I do getting him on the right team in the right developmental situation," Paul told ESPN on Saturday.

Interestingly, the "right team" doesn't necessarily mean joining a roster with his father, LeBron James. While LeBron would be thrilled if that happened naturally, Paul emphasized that LeBron wants Bronny to carve out his own path.

"LeBron wants Bronny to be his own man," Paul told ESPN.

Bronny James faced a setback in July when he experienced a cardiac arrest during a workout at USC, revealing a congenital heart defect that kept him sidelined for almost five months.

After receiving medical clearance, he made his USC debut on December 11, now averaging 5.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in nearly 20 minutes per game.
